Issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, this piece belongs to a wider Manx commemorative program that has long exploited the Isle of Man's devolved monetary authority to issue collectible 50 pence pieces well outside the mainstream UK coinage program. The "Queen of Hearts" title derives from Diana's 1995 Panorama interview, in which she used the phrase to describe the role she hoped to fulfill.
