| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the third portrait by Raphael David Maklouf, depicting the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a draped neckline. The legend encircles the effigy along the periphery, with the denomination · 50 PENCE · appearing at the base of the coin. The portrait is rendered in fine relief with detailed hair and crown work characteristic of the Maklouf design used on British territorial coinage from 1985 onward. |
