Issued to mark Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee — seventy years on the throne, the longest reign in British history — this Isle of Man piece appeared in the final months of the Queen's life. She died in September 2022, making the jubilee commemorations that year both celebratory and, in retrospect, valedictory. The Isle of Man, a Crown dependency, issues its own coinage independently of the Royal Mint but retains the Crown as head of state.
The "God Save the Queen" designation became obsolete within months of striking.
