Obverse description The fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the heptagonal field, depicting a right-facing crowned effigy of Her Majesty wearing the George IV State Diadem and a drop earring. The truncation of the bust is signed with the engraver's initials J.C. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2020 ·, distributed around the periphery in raised Latin lettering, with the denomination and date appearing to the upper left of the portrait.
