| Additional information |
Jersey issued this piece to mark Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee, commemorating fifty years on the throne — though the celebration itself fell in 2002, not 2003. The one-year lag is not unusual for the island's proof program, where striking and release timelines routinely trail the commemorated event. Jersey, as a Crown Dependency, operates its own coinage authority independent of the Royal Mint, giving it latitude to schedule issues on its own terms.
KM#149a distinguishes the silver proof from the base-metal circulation strike, KM#149.
