Obverse description Fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as a right-facing diademed effigy, modeled by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the central field of this equilateral curve heptagon flan. The Queen wears a girlhood tiara and a pearl earring, her hair elegantly dressed. The peripheral Latin legend reads ELIZABETH·II·D·G REG·F·D·, with the date 2009 at the lower right and the engraver's initials IRB incuse beneath the portrait truncation.
