| Reverse description | Central design features the royal ERII cipher — the interlaced and entwined initials of Elizabeth Regina II — surmounted by the St. Edward's Crown, all executed in fine relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. A decorative wreath incorporating floral emblems of the United Kingdom, including a rose and thistle, flanks the monogram on either side. The date '2 JUNE 1953' is inscribed within the cipher, commemorating the exact date of the Coronation. The legend '1953 CORONATION JUBILEE 2003' arcs along the upper periphery, and 'FIFTY PENCE' is inscribed along the lower arc. |
