| Additional information |
The Pobjoy Mint, based in Kington upon Thames, has operated as a private mint producing coins for smaller territories and dependencies since the 1960s — this issue almost certainly falls within their long-running contract work for Isle of Man or a similar Crown dependency, which has generated Christmas-themed 50 pence strikes annually since 1980. That series is notable for rotating festive designs each year, making individual dates genuinely distinct from one another rather than interchangeable annual bullion.
KM# 1609 places this within a densely catalogued sequence. Collectors tracking the full Christmas 50p run encounter the 2018 date as one of the later strikes before Pobjoy's closure in 2020.
