| Reverse description | Three French hens rendered in fine detail occupy the central field of this heptagonal coin, their plumage elaborately engraved in the proof finish. A small heart motif appears in the upper right field, evoking the seasonal sentiment of the Christmas series. | Additional information |
The Isle of Man Treasury has issued annual Christmas 50 pence pieces since 1980, making it one of the longest-running themed coin programs from any British Crown Dependency. Unlike the mainland Royal Mint, the Manx government has historically exercised considerable latitude in approving collector issues — a flexibility rooted in the island's fiscal autonomy under the 1765 Revestment Act, which governs its constitutional relationship with the Crown.
KM#1322b is the gold proof variant of the 2007 issue, one of three metal strikings that year alongside cupro-nickel and silver.
