Gibraltar's annual Christmas 50 pence series, running since 1988, is one of the longest-running themed coinage programs from any British Overseas Territory. The issues are struck by the Tower Mint and sold primarily to collectors rather than circulated, which accounts for why examples in problem-free condition are routine finds despite low nominal face value.
