Gibraltar's Christmas 50 pence series, running annually from 1988, became something of a collector's fixture — the territory leaned heavily into seasonal coinage as a revenue stream given its tiny domestic economy. The 2007 issue continues that run without interruption, though by this point the series had long since outgrown any pretense of circulation and was produced primarily for the collector market.
