Jersey's 2016 Bayeux Tapestry series commemorated the 950th anniversary of the Norman Conquest — an event with particular resonance for the island, which has been a Crown dependency with Norman-rooted constitutional ties since 1066. William's fleet assembled at the mouth of the Dives river in Normandy before crossing to Pevensey; the Tapestry's depiction of shipbuilding remains one of the earliest pictorial records of Norman naval construction methods.
KM#334 is one panel in a multi-coin series, each capturing a sequential scene from the embroidery's 70-meter narrative.
