| Additional information |
Jersey has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces with some regularity, but gold-plated steel strikes occupy an awkward commercial tier — priced above circulation issue, below genuine precious metal, and largely aimed at the gift market rather than serious numismatic collectors. Elizabeth II turned 90 on 21 April 2016, and the occasion prompted a predictable flood of commemorative issues across Crown Dependencies and Commonwealth territories. Jersey's output was among the more prolific.
KM#319 is struck in gold-plated steel rather than the cupro-nickel used for standard Jersey 50 pence coinage, making it non-circulating by both intent and practice.
