| Additional information |
Ascension Island's commemorative issues of this period were produced under the Saint Helena government administration, with Royal Mint striking duties contracted out — a reminder that "Ascension Island" as an issuing authority was largely a licensing convenience rather than a functioning local mint infrastructure. The 80th birthday series appeared across multiple British Overseas Territories simultaneously in 2006, each with identical reverses and territory-specific obverses, making single-territory attribution meaningful only for registry purposes.
