Additional information

Guernsey's relationship with VE Day is not ceremonial — the island was under German military occupation from July 1940 until May 9, 1945, one day after the official German surrender. That liberation date is still marked annually as a public holiday in the Bailiwick. The multiple KM references here indicate a series of distinct designs issued under a single commemorative program, a common Pobjoy Mint approach for collector-market pieces.

Gold-plated copper has no legal tender circulation life; these were sold directly into the collector market.
