Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse field, depicting the crowned and draped right-facing bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a drop earring. The portrait is rendered with fine detail characteristic of proof striking, with the engraver's initials J.C. incuse beneath the bust truncation. The circular legend surrounding the effigy reads ELIZABETH II DEI GRA REG FID DEF, separated by raised pellet stops, with the date appearing between DEF and ELIZABETH. The design was introduced in 2015 and represents a more naturalistic and contemporary portrayal compared to previous official effigies.
