Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, designed by Jody Clark, depicting the monarch wearing the George IV State Diadem and draped robes. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the diadem's jewelled setting and the Queen's facial features. The circular legend surrounding the effigy carries the abbreviated royal titles in Latin, with the denomination and date integrated into the inscription. The engraver's initials 'J.C' appear incuse in the field below the portrait truncation.
