Reverse description A dynamic depiction of Concorde in three-quarter profile view, banking to the right in supersonic flight, rendered with bold linear speed lines radiating from the aircraft's fuselage to convey velocity. Stylised cloud formations occupy the lower field beneath the aircraft, enhancing the sense of altitude and motion. The denomination 'FIFTY PENCE' is inscribed in two words along the upper arc of the coin within the heptagonal border.

Additional information

Concorde's first flight took place on 2 March 1969 from Toulouse, making 2019 the fiftieth anniversary. The aircraft never served Guernsey — the island's runway at the time was entirely unsuitable — but the Bailiwick has issued commemorative coinage tied to British aviation milestones with some regularity, this being among the more commercially driven examples in that run.
