Obverse description Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detailing of the facial features, hair, and collar. The portrait is the official coinage effigy as adopted for Commonwealth territories following his accession. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III to the left and FIFTY PENCE · PITCAIRN ISLANDS to the upper right, with the date 2025 positioned at the base flanked by two raised dots. A small engraver's mark appears at the truncation of the bust.

Reverse description A winged allegorical figure of Victory is depicted in the centre of the field, arms raised and holding an olive branch aloft, her robes flowing, set against a large stylised letter V rendered in geometric Art Deco lines with radiating rays emanating from behind the figure. A terrestrial globe showing the outline of Europe and the Atlantic is depicted in the lower portion of the field below the V, symbolising global liberation. The peripheral legend THIS IS YOUR HOUR arcs across the upper field, with VE DAY inscribed to the lower left and the commemorative date 8 MAY 1945 to the lower right, all within a raised border circle.

Additional information

Pitcairn Islands coinage is struck entirely for collector export — the island's population of around 40 people uses New Zealand dollars for daily commerce and has no practical use for its own currency. The Royal Mint or contracted private mints produce these issues on behalf of the territory, with distribution handled through numismatic channels rather than any local banking infrastructure.
