The portrait presents the King in a naturalistic, contemporary style with fine detail rendered in the hair and facial features. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2024, arranged to follow the shaped rim, with intervening raised dots serving as word separators.
