| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, modelled by sculptor Martin Jennings, occupying the central field of the heptagonal flan. The portrait depicts the King in a naturalistic, contemporary style without regalia, showing fine detail in the facial features and hair. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2024 ·, divided by interpuncts, with the engraver's initials MJ incuse below the truncation at lower right. |

| Reverse description | A full-colour depiction of a Stegosaurus dominates the central field, rendered in naturalistic olive-green tones with characteristic dorsal plates and lateral tail spikes rendered in rich brown hues. Superimposed beneath the living animal is an engraved skeletal reconstruction of the same dinosaur in relief, evoking the palaeontological record. Jurassic-era flora — ferns, cycads, and primitive conifers — frame the lower and right portions of the field in fine milled detail. The legend STEGOSAURUS arcs along the upper rim and JURASSIC is inscribed along the lower rim, with the engraver's initials RN visible at lower left. The design was executed by Robert Nicholls and forms part of the Royal Mint's British Dinosaurs series. |
