Additional information

Issued as part of a multi-coin series commemorating the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, this piece appeared in the first full year of Charles III's reign to generate collector revenue — Guernsey, like Jersey and the Isle of Man, has long used British royal themes as a reliable driver of numismatic sales without bearing any of the administrative costs of the Royal Mint. The Royal Mews itself dates to the reign of George III, when the present site was redeveloped by John Nash in the 1820s under George IV.
