Obverse description Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in a bold, contemporary sculptural style by engraver Martin Jennings, with naturalistically modelled hair and facial features set against a mirror-polished field. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III·D·G·REX·F·D·50 PENCE, with the date 2024 positioned below the truncation of the bust. The engraver's initials MJ appear discreetly to the right of the neck truncation. The design fills the flan with confidence, the portrait occupying the central field with no inner border.
