| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief in the contemporary portrait by sculptor Martin Jennings. The king is depicted with a bare head and truncated bust, the modelling exhibiting fine detail in the facial features and hair.
