Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III after the portrait by Martin Jennings, rendered in high relief with naturalistic modelling of the facial features and hair. The legend KING CHARLES III flanks the left arc of the coin, with ISLE OF MAN continuing along the right arc, all in incuse capital letters. The date 2024 appears in the lower field, centred beneath the portrait and flanked by two raised dots. The coin's equilateral curve heptagonal format frames the effigy cleanly within the silver-plated field.

Reverse description A detailed frontal architectural view of the Palace of Westminster, home of the United Kingdom Parliament, occupies the upper two-thirds of the reverse, rendered with fine engraved detail and highlighted by selective 24-carat gold plating that distinguishes the building from the silver-plated field. Radiating arched lines rise above the structure, evoking ceremonial grandeur. The inscription STATE OPENING OF PARLIAMENT is displayed in two lines across the lower field, flanked by fleur-de-lis ornaments, with the denomination 50p centred at the base, also accompanied by flanking fleur-de-lis devices. The composition was engraved by Glyn Davies.
