Additional information

Jane Seymour is the only one of Henry VIII's six wives to have died Queen of England — she predeceased Henry, succumbing to puerperal fever in October 1537, roughly two weeks after delivering the future Edward VI. Her brief queenship of just over a year gives her an outsized historical footprint relative to her time on the throne, partly because she produced the male heir Henry had spent a decade and two marriages trying to secure.

Guernsey has issued prolifically in the commemorative proof market for decades, and this piece falls within that commercial tradition rather than any domestic monetary need.
