| Additional information |
Pitcairn Islands issues legal tender coinage under British authority but has no domestic coin-operated economy — the island's population has hovered below fifty for years, and virtually nothing circulates. This piece exists entirely as a collectible, licensed through the Harry Potter intellectual property, and was struck for export sale rather than any transactional purpose.
The Hermione Granger issue is one of several in a character series released under Charles III's effigy following his 2023 accession. Pitcairn has leaned heavily on themed collector issues since the 1990s as a revenue mechanism, the territory having almost no other export economy.
