| Reverse description | The reverse features a boldly rendered dove of peace in a stylised, graphic manner, its body turned inward with wings dramatically spread and tail feathers fanning outward to the right, filling the heptagonal field. The dove holds an olive branch in its beak, the sprig rendered in fine detail descending to the lower left. The upper arc of the legend reads IN PEACE GOODWILL, while the lower arc carries the commemorative inscription VE DAY 8 MAY 1945, all in raised capital lettering. The design by Matt Dent commemorates the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, with the mirror-like proof fields providing strong contrast against the frosted devices. |
