Reverse description The upper register of the reverse depicts a selective 24-carat gold-plated semicircular vignette portraying the Sword of Offering, one of the principal regalia used in the Coronation of King Charles III, shown in close detail with its ornate hilt and decorative scabbard amid an architectural background of Westminster Abbey tracery rendered in fine line engraving. The lower register, finished in silver, carries the inscription THE SWORD OF OFFERING in bold mixed-case lettering arranged across three lines, flanked by fleur-de-lis ornaments, with the denomination 50p centred at the base also accompanied by fleur-de-lis devices.
