The Isle of Man has long exploited its status as a Crown Dependency — outside UK parliamentary jurisdiction but owing allegiance to the Crown — to issue commemorative coinage that the Royal Mint itself cannot or will not produce. This piece belongs to a series marking the accession of Charles III with verses from the national anthem, a format the island's issuer, Pobjoy Mint, has used aggressively since the 1970s to capture the collector market ahead of official British issues.
"Send Him Victorious" is the opening line of "God Save the King," last sung in that form at the coronation on 6 May 2023.
