Obverse description Central field features an ornate yantra-style mandala design composed of a stepped square frame with Devanagari inscriptions arranged within its compartments, bearing the royal name and titles of King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah Dev. At the center of the mandala is an oval cartouche containing a trident (trishul), a sacred symbol associated with the Hindu deity Shiva, patron of the Nepalese royal house. A small solar symbol (sun) appears to the left of the central square, and a Nepali date is rendered at the base of the design in Devanagari numerals. The legend reading the royal honorific title appears in segmented Devanagari script distributed across the panels of the mandala.
