| Obverse description | Dark blue-grey typographic note set within an elaborate ornamental border of interlaced foliate guilloche work, with decorative corner pieces. The denomination 'FÜNFZIG MARK' is printed in large bold serif lettering across the upper central field, above which the title 'DARLEHNSKASSENSCHEIN' runs in capitals along the top. A central guilloche underprint rosette fills the background behind the issue date 'Kowno, den 4. April 1918' and the issuer inscription 'DARLEHNSKASSE OST', flanked on either side by large numeral '50' denominators.
