| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in reddish-brown and salmon tones and carries a central rectangular vignette with a detailed line-engraved view of the Stralsund Town Hall and St. Nicholas' Church as seen from the market square. This central scene is enclosed within an arch of elaborate acanthus and foliate scrollwork in Art Nouveau style, with confronted bird and dragon motifs at the upper corners. The denomination '50 Mark' appears in Gothic script on both the left and right sides of the border. At the bottom centre, a circular seal of the city of Stralsund bears a sailing vessel and the Latin legend 'SIGILLVM CIVITATIS STRALESSVNDIS'. |
