The coat of arms of Eisenach (St George in shield, wearing chainmail and holding shield with cross) in the centre of the red background, with crossed hammers in the top right and left corners and a large star centre top. Raised white stamp lower middle with coat of arms again. Signatures to the left and right of it.
Reverse description
View of Eisenach with reclining woman turning her neck to gaze at the town. Leaves drape across the top of the picture. The serial number is stamped in red to the right of the Wartburg (castle on top of the hill), the denomination `50` is in a large font below the woman`s right elbow, and the word `Ungültig` (invalid) is stamped at the very top, slightly to the right. Interestingly, the green image doesn`t sit perfectly in the yellow borders around it, with the top right-hand corner slightly higher than the top left. The name of the printer is below the outer yellow border.
