| Obverse description | Dark red letterpress text on a red guilloche underprint. The denomination '50 Kassenschein 50' and 'Fünfzig Mark' appear in large Gothic type at the top, with vertical serial number and series letter printed along both side margins. The body carries the redemption text referencing the Gouvernements-Hauptkasse in Windhoek, the issue date 'Windhuk, den 8. August 1914', and the manuscript signature of the Imperial Governor above the printed title 'Der Kaiserliche Gouverneur'. |

| Obverse lettering | 50 Kassenschein 50 Fünfzig Mark zahlt die Gouvernements-Hauptkasse in Windhuk ohne Legitimationsprüfung dem Einlieferer dieses Kassenscheins spätestens drei Monate nach Aufhebung des Kriegszustandes. Die Verpflichtung zur Einlösung erlischt mit Ablauf eines Jahres nach diesem Zeitpunkt. So sind alle öffentlichen Kassen im Schutzgebiete sind verpflichtet diesen Kassenschein zum Nennbetrage in Zahlung zu nehmen. Windhuk, den 8. August 1914. Der Kaiserliche Gouverneur: Zur Gültigkeit muss dem Kassenschein der Reichsadler in großer Form aufgeprägt sein. |
