| Reverse description | The large numeral '50' dominates the central field in bold relief, with the denomination legend 'LWEI' inscribed below in smaller characters. The design is simple and stark, relying on the oversized numeral for visual impact. A continuous border of raised beads encircles the entire reverse, running parallel to the reeded edge and framing the denomination within a clean, uncluttered field. The mint year appears on the obverse, leaving the reverse free of date. |

| Additional information |
Angola's post-independence coinage was issued under the People's Republic, established after the MPLA consolidated control following the 1975 civil war and the withdrawal of Portuguese administration. The lwei subunit denominations of this period were short-lived; economic deterioration and inflation rendered small-denomination coins effectively worthless within a few years, and the series was abandoned rather than updated.
