Obverse description At centre, the Lithuanian state coat of arms — the Vytis, depicting an armoured knight on horseback brandishing a sword and bearing a shield — is rendered within a pointed heraldic shield. Flanking the shield on either side, a stylised arc of concentric lines sweeps across the field, evoking a comet or celestial trajectory, accented by four four-pointed stars. The country name LIETUVA curves along the upper arc of the coin in bold Latin letters, while the denomination 50 LITŲ is inscribed in two lines at the bottom of the field. The mint mark LMK and the engraver's initials appear discretely within the design.
