Comments

The Liberation Front issued this note in 1942 as genuine operating currency for partisan-controlled territory in occupied Slovenia — not a propaganda token, but a functional instrument used to pay fighters and purchase supplies from sympathetic civilians. Printing and distribution under German and Italian occupation carried real risk for everyone involved in the chain.

Vlasto Kopač, who designed the series, was a trained graphic artist who later became one of Slovenia's most significant sculptors. That he was doing clandestine currency work at twenty-three, in wartime, is worth noting.
