Obverse description Central device depicts the three medieval fortified towers of San Marino — Guaita, Cesta, and Montale — rendered in fine detail within a circular inner border, with a sprig of olive to the left and a sprig of oak to the right of the towers. The legend REPVBBLICA DI in arched form appears above in the upper field, and SAN MARINO in straight form across the lower field. The engraver's signature U.PERNAZZA appears in small characters at the base of the central design.
