Obverse description	The Bulgarian state coat of arms is positioned in the upper left corner within a rectangular inset, framed by an ornate guilloche border running along all four edges of the note. The bank title БЪЛГАРСКА НАРОДНА БАНКА appears in bold letterpress across the top centre, with the denomination 50 ПЕТДЕСЕТЪ ЛЕВА flanked by numerals repeated on either side in the central field. The lower portion carries the issue date, place, and two manuscript signature lines above a warning text in a small panel.
Obverse lettering	Петдесетъ Лева Българска Народна Банка Въ замѣна на тая банкнота Българската Народна Банка плаща предявителю петдесетъ лева сребро София, 1 август 1885 За подправка виновнитѣ се наказватъ споредъ законъ (Translation: Fifty Leva Bulgarian National Bank In exchange of this banknote the Bulgarian National Bank pays the bearer fifty leva silver Sofia, 1 August 1885 For forgery the guilty are punished according to the law)
Reverse description	The reverse is printed entirely in green and consists of a large central guilloche oval vignette occupying most of the note's surface, within which the bold numeral 50 is rendered in large format with the word ЛЕВА inscribed repeatedly along the inner curve of the oval. The surrounding field is filled with fine lathe-work guilloche patterns, and a sawtooth-pattern border frames the entire composition.
