Obverse description Central field displays a colorized purple-magenta reproduction of a page from the Codex Purpureus Beratinus, an illuminated Greek New Testament manuscript, with ancient Greek uncial script rendered in silver and gold tones against the vivid purple ground. The manuscript text is depicted across two columns, faithful to the original codex layout. A concentric engine-turned pattern in the silver border surrounds the central colored motif. The legend SHQIPËRI - ALBANIA arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin letters, and the date 2011 appears in the lower exergue.
