Additional information

The IAR CV-11 was a Romanian interwar biplane trainer developed by Industria Aeronautică Română in the 1930s, part of Romania's drive to build a domestic aviation industry rather than rely entirely on French and Polish imports. This coin is one in a series of Romanian commemoratives celebrating national aviation history issued around the centenary of powered flight.

KM#161 had a low mintage and was sold primarily through collector channels, seeing no meaningful circulation.
