| Additional information |
Domnica Darienco was a celebrated Moldovan operatic soprano who performed extensively at the Bolshoi Theatre during the Soviet period, becoming one of the few Moldovan artists to achieve genuine recognition at that institutional level. This issue is part of Moldova's ongoing silver commemorative program honoring national cultural figures — a series the National Bank has used deliberately to assert a distinct Moldovan cultural identity separate from both Romanian and Russian historical narratives.
