Landssjóður Íslands — Iceland's national treasury rather than a central bank — issued this note under Danish sovereignty, a political arrangement that shaped the entire series. The 1907 notes were designed by Henrik Olrik and Gerhard Heilmann, both Danish, and printed by H.H. Thiele in Copenhagen; Iceland had no domestic printing capacity remotely suited to banknote production at the time.

Pick 6 is among the earliest Icelandic paper money issues and survives in very small numbers. The series preceded the establishment of Landsbanki Íslands as the principal note-issuing authority by only a few years, making these treasury notes a brief transitional type.
