Obverse description The obverse presents a faithful replica of Sweden's first postage stamp, the 3-skilling banco stamp of 1855, depicted within a square frame bearing the legend around its outer edge. The years 1855 and 2005 flank the central design on the left and right respectively, commemorating the 150th anniversary of Swedish postal history. The mint mark 'E' for Eskilstuna appears to the left of the inscription, while the initial 'H', denoting the surname of the Riksbank Governor, appears to the right. The overall composition is rendered in a flat, medallic style evoking the graphic character of the original philatelic issue.
