Reverse description The reverse centres on an intaglio vignette of Carl von Linné (Carolus Linnaeus, 1707–1778), the Swedish botanist and father of modern taxonomy, shown in three-quarter portrait and holding a Twinflower (Linnaea borealis). A stylised sun motif and decorative floral guilloche elements frame the composition, with the denomination numeral 50 repeated at lower left and right within rosette underprints.
