The "Portrait and Landscape" series — named for the nature imagery that defined its visual programme — was designed by Ib Andersen, one of Denmark's most respected graphic artists of the mid-twentieth century, whose involvement gave the series an aesthetic coherence unusual for state currency. This Type 2 variant is distinguished from its predecessor by the absence of crowns in the watermark, a modification introduced partway through the series run without a change in Pick number, which makes type identification a matter of close physical inspection rather than catalog reference alone.

Four distinct signature combinations span the note's decade of issue, with the Andersen & Riim pairing confined to the mid-1960s prefixes A6–A7.
