A/S Forretningsbanken Namsos was a small regional commercial bank operating out of Namsos, a coastal timber town in Trøndelag. The note dates to 1940 — the year German forces attacked and subsequently burned Namsos to the ground during the April–May campaign. The town was almost entirely destroyed in the bombing and the fire that followed. Whether this particular issue predates or postdates the occupation is unclear from surviving records, but Forretningsbanken Namsos did not survive the war as an independent institution.
The rarity of NP#N19 today is almost certainly a direct consequence of that destruction.
