| Reverse description | A gilt effigy of the seated Buddha in dhyana mudra (meditation pose) is centrally positioned on a lotus throne, rendered in high relief with selective gold gilding against a polished proof field. To the upper right, a gilt Dharmachakra (Wheel of the Law) with eight spokes is depicted, symbolising the Buddha's first teaching. A Lao script inscription appears along the left field, and the date 1997 is inscribed to the right. The legend BUDDHA is engraved along the lower rim in Latin capitals. The design is framed by a beaded border. |
