To the upper right, a gilt Dharmachakra (Wheel of the Law) with eight spokes is depicted, symbolising the Buddha's first teaching. A Lao script inscription appears along the left field, and the date 1997 is inscribed to the right. The legend BUDDHA is engraved along the lower rim in Latin capitals.
