| Obverse description | Central colorized field depicting the Pha That Luang, the iconic golden Buddhist stupa of Vientiane, rendered in full color against a dark nocturnal background. A small white cameo of the Lao state emblem appears to the upper left of the stupa within the colorized area. The silver border features a beaded inner ring and is decorated with stylized dok champa (frangipani) floral motifs at the lower left and right. An inscription in Lao script arcs along the upper portion of the border, with the legend LAO PDR incused along the lower rim in Latin script, flanked by floral ornaments. |
